Takashi Shimizu’s film The Deadly Village is based on the most terrifying legend in the land of the rising sun in Inunaki village, or people often call it the more familiar name Death Gas Village. The village cannot be found on the Japanese map, but there are many anecdotes about the Death Temple village like the incest village who slept with dogs, or a murderer who killed all the villagers of the village.
The film is the story of the Kanae family – a psychiatrist capable of seeing ghosts from an early age. The movie begins when Kanae’s brother Yuma and his girlfriend pick up the phone at 2 o’clock at a payphone to enter Inunaki village. The trip helped the two find the village in the rumor, but very soon Yuma’s girlfriend became extremely strange and lost his life shortly afterwards in an extremely horror way.
From here, in turn the Kanae family members went missing, mysterious deaths occurred more and more. Kanae also saw more evil spirits than before, so she decided to look for clues that could clarify things.

The village of Death has the typical Japanese storytelling, the plot is very logical and closely connected. Audiences have just been scared to watch the movie, but are intrigued by the curiosity of each piece in the film and want to continue watching the movie to witness the more horrific things that will happen. The actors in the film are assessed the round roles from the main character to the supporting role.
